It always starts with a question
Then comes the visualisation
As a visual conceptual artist, Amaury Wenger combines social issues with various art forms and techniques. Strongly influenced by his architectural studies in Paris and Berlin, Wenger's work combines aesthetics and technology. In Kramer's Dream, for example, he combines the look of analogue colour photography with the feel of woodcut, in Superposition he combines the chaos of quantum mechanics with linear illustration.
Simplifying complex relationships not only nakes them easier to visualise, but also provides a low-threshold approach to aesthetics by reducing the subject to its essence. Predominantly abstract, the artist's work is intended to remain open and accessible. Often the simplest geometric shapes and primary colours are used to provide the eye with an island of tranquillity to focus on the essential.
